Biography for
Tamala H. Austin
As native Houstonian and a graduate of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tamala H. Austin is a seasoned professional with over eighteen years of Accounting and Administration experience. She has also obtained credit hours towards a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary School. She was an active member at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for over 37 years, where she held several leadership and teaching roles. Her gifts of administration and teaching along with her love for the people helped her to accomplish many achievements while at New Mt. Calvary. Her achievements include, Member of the Women’s Counsel, Teacher for Steadfast Ministry, President of the Youth and Young Adult Choir, Host of the Keeping It Real talk show and a couple’s luncheon where she was the keynote speaker. Tamala was an asset to the Marriage Ministry at New Mt. Calvary, she served in several capacities from assistant teacher for the Marriage Sunday school class to planning enrichment activities for couples. Her passion has afforded her many opportunities to minister to single women, married women, as well as women who are separated or divorced. Her greatest joy is helping women to develop their self-esteem and realize their self- worth. “When a woman knows her worth, it shows up in every aspect of her life”. One of her favorite scriptures is, Psalm 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
It was in the summer of 2006 that Tamala found herself at the end of a failed marriage and the vision of Intimate Occasions, LLC was born. In the midst of what looked like was the end, came a new beginning. A small business that started at her home; doing small parties, couples bible study, showers and church functions has now grown into a business. Intimate Occasions is a Christian based establishment that is designed to help enhance relationships through spiritual and healthy parameters. Intimate Occasions is designed to help couples enjoy a fruitful relationship and an unfailing love. It was during that difficult season, Tamala found her true mission and purpose in life. Tamala took a good look within herself and instead of being bitter; she made a decision to be better. What best describes her, is her intense determination to help couples build strong relationships. She enjoys encouraging people to realize their full potential in their relationships by making an investment. . Her commitment to God and serving others has inspired her to be an ambassador for marriages. Tamala strives to bring out the best in every relationship she encounters. “If sharing my deepest secret can save one marriage, then it is worth it.” Her heart felt compassion is displayed from start to finish as she serves each couple in a unique way.
